Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20220114 Rel.76871

Hello,

I'm based in France. My ISP is Orange and I'm using their LIVEBOX 5 box to access fiber network.

This box connects at 2GBps (uplink) but is limited to 1 GBps per LAN port (there are 4 LAN ports).

I'd like to maximize the Internet bandwidth available on my LAN by connecting 2 WAN ports from the ER605 router to the LIVEBOX.

At present ER605's WAN port is connected to LIVEBOX (192.168.1.1/Gateway) via static IP : 192.168.1.100=WAN port + Gateway=192.168.1.1.

I tried connecting another cable to LAN/WAN1 port and configuring LAN/WAN1 with 192.168.1.200 + Gateway = 192.168.1.1

It failed and I had to physically remove the second cable and disconnect LAN/WAN1 to bring the network back to life.

Would you have any advice to give me ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Best regards.
NestorB

  @NestorB

Do you mean you want both WAN ports of the R605 to be connected to the same ISP device?
I'm afraid this topology won't work.

@Virgo thanks a lot for your reply. Absolutely : my idea was to create 2 connection to the same "ISP BOX" (Orange Livebox) to work around its limitation of 1 GBps per LAN client. With that I thought I could leverage the box capability to deliver 2 GBps on the fiber side (uplink).

Please forgive my lack of network advanced knowledge.

  @NestorB This router doesn't support Link Aggregation on the WAN port. The second WAN is used to link up another modem

  @Somnus thanks for your reply.

Is there another TP-Link router which would support link aggregation on the WAN port ?

Best regards.

No I didn't find one. I only seeTplink has some routers support 2.5G WAN port.
