Model: EAP235-Wall
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 5.0.3

Hi,

i would like to know that what is the best eap for outdoor (500 meter surrounded). Currently im using eap 110 (2.4 Ghz) but problem is with eap 110 discounts and reconnect automatically every 15 - 20 minutes. And the max speed getting 20 mbps.
Internet plan - 300 mbps

hardware controller - OC 200

total number of eap 110 - 15 nos

Total number of users - 100

users in indoor Portacabin and out

Kind Regards Soofi ME

EAP225-outdoors rather than the EAP110 should help a lot as it will give you 5 GHz options as well. The extra bandwidth that you get with a dual band radio will help you with your large number of users.

Avoid the temptation to select wide bandwidths. 20 Mhz on 2.5 Ghz and 40 Mhz on 5 Ghz will give you a better range/more solid connections than wider bandwidths will and also give you more channels to work with to provent interference be ween units. If you need more throughput, it is better to add more access points rather than trying to get a small number of access points to handle a large area with a large number of clients.

Dont be tempted to rely heavily on Mesh as it will reduce your overall bandwith. Connect as many as you can with an Ethernet cable instead.

You didnt say if you are using a system controller or not but with multiple access points the OC200 controller is really important.

The EAP610-Outdoor  (WiFi-6) would probably be a better choice than the EAP225-Outdoor in a high density application but the EAP610-Outdoor has been nothing but Vaporware for 15 months since the first press release.

Right now, if you want WiFi-6 you will either have to wait for who knows how long before the EAP610-Outdoor is actually available or else you will have to switch over to UI entirely .

@Soofi tplink website shows EAP225-outdoor can handle 200m. I think eap610-outdoor should support at least the same distance. However wireless connection requires two-way communication, and common wireless devices like mobile phone can't actually connect the wifi 200m away. The AP can hardly "hear" the client devices.

Dear  @Soofi ,

If you don't have so many client devices, we recommend EAP225-Outddor with Mesh solution.
