I just bought this on Amazon (yeah, I know) and I expected that it would be able to connect to the 5G router where I live to get a better connection. However, when I set it up, it only shows the high channels. See pic.

 

There is also no way to set the region that I can find, which was what I initially thought the problem might be. I am in Canada by the way.

 

I tried updating to the CA version of the firmware, but that didn't work (the upload failed) and the US version which said it did not support my model. And I have not been able to locate the firmware for the UN model anywhere. I suspect that some improvements have been made in the seven years since my firmware version was produced.

 

Basic question is: Is this salvagable, or do I just send it back?

As far as I know, CPE CA firmware version only supports 5G Band 4, can you confirm that your Router supports Band 4?
If your router does not support it, then it is recommended to send it back.

Band 4: 149-165, check the channel on your router's web interface or contact its support to consult.

I see. Well, the problem seems to be that band 4 is the only band that it can see. I will attempt to put in a screenshot of the survey screen:

 

However, there is no sign of the one that I want to connect to, which is on channel 40 or the one that I set up for testing which is on channel 48 and my cell phone can connect to it.
