Model: EAP620 HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20211028 Rel. 68287

Microsoft Surface model Surface Pro i5 Model 1796. Will not connect to wireless network when EAP620 HD wireless configuration is WPA2-PSK/WP3-SAE/ALS. Will connect if the EAP620 HD wireless configuration is WPA/WPA2-PSK / Auto.

The Surface Pro supports WPA2-Personal TKIP and

                                          WPA2-Personal CCMP

Seems like the wireless configuration WPA2-PSK/WP3-SAE/ALS since WPA2 is available on both should work??? Would prefer to have wireless security set to WPA2-PSK/WP3-SAE/ALS.

Ideas?

Update. Did a reset of the Surface like getting ready for sale to clear everything. When you do that the Surface does a fresh install of Windows. With that installed the Surface will connect to the WPA3 network. Even though when I checked for a new driver with the old install it said the 2018 driver was newest. With the refresh the driver now now has a 2021 date. --bill

  @bill1228 Have you update the network card driver on your Surface?

And what will happen if you choose WPA2-AES?

I think the issue is that Surface cannot support AES as authentication type. However it's also hard to believe Microsoft Surface doesn't support such common wireless security type.

  @Somnus

Yes the drivers are at latest version. Just did an update once I got on line. Chip set is Marvel which I am not a fan of, but did not make the surface. smiley Did a forget of the wireless network and retried with suggestion.

WPA/WPA2-PSK/AES works

WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE/AES does not work.

Seems like it should work on the WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE/AES as it works on WPA2-PSK/AES.

Thanks for the suggestion.
