Model: TL-SG3452XP
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: TL-SG3452XP(UN)_V2_2.0.0 Build 20220527

Hi,

access to the management of the TP-Link TL-SG3452XP V2 switch is lost after a few days of normal operation. Reboot helps, but only again for a few days. It can happen in the middle of the night, in the middle of the day, at any time. I can see it in the snmp log.
Access is lost in all directions: web, ssh, telnet. Pings also disappear. But at the same time, the connected clients continue to work normally.
The IP address of the device is assigned to only one VLAN - vlan100. VLAN1 has been disabled and removed wherever possible.
Why is access lost? How can this be fixed? Any thoughts?
Thank you!

I second that! Here are some further observations:

We are having seven model TL-SG3452XP switches in use and three of these had this kind of "management freeze" already.

We have two different types of TL-SG3452XP version 1 and version 2.

If this freeze occures:

  • devices on TL-SG3452XP version 2 switches continue to work normaly even after the devices are powercylced!
  • devices on TL-SG3452XP version 1 switches continue to work normaly until they are powercylced!

If we powercyle a Microsoft Windows client attached to switch version 1 with "management freeze", the client loses the ability to detect our domain network.

DHCP is working but the network type is detected as public network by the operating system. The switch has to be powercycled to get the device to detect the network as domain network again!

If we powercyle our PoE (VOIP) phones attached to switch version 1 with "management freeze", PoE is lost! Powercycling the switch brings these PoE phones back to life.

Right now we enabled remote logging to further track down the root cause.

  @AdminSNAFU

The support service replied to me that these "freezes" are related to SNMP functions. Are you using it?

They sent us a beta version of the firmware, which we are currently testing. The longest uptime we've had is almost a month

Thx for your reply - yes we actually use SNMP.

Any chances for us to get this beta firmware?
