Hi all,

we are using a Sophos XGS (192.168.2.252) with a configured DHCP Server (192.168.2.100-192.168.2.200). Since we are not satisfied with the Sophos access points we would maybe switch to the Omada controller.

I have installed it for testing. The controllers ip address is 192.168.2.23. Before we now buy AP's I would like to clarify how the configuration must look.

Maybe?

We do not want to use VLANs

Thanks a lot :)

So a little feedback.

I have already given myself the solution. It works if you only use access points just as you can see from the screenshot.

The access points and the clients get an IP from the external DHCP server.

@Moinsen0815 I think an Omada compatible Gateway is required for this. Wait for other responses but I asked a similar question before and that is the answer I received.

The Omada controller will work perfectly well in conjunction with the Sophos appliance but will not control the Sophos.  All that is needed is to set up wireless networks within the controller which will be on the prime LAN from the Sophos box.  Done this perfectly well using Draytek routers/firewalls & OC200 controllers as well as software controllers running on PC's & as Docker app within a NAS.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
