Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: v1.2.3

I can't seem to upgrade to this new firmware release:

Currently using the 1.2.3 beta with software Controller v5.9.31. I've tried three times already. Memory utilization is below 50%.

The error message in the log is always the same:

"Failed]Master Administrator admin failed to upgrade ER605 manually. Please check your network configuration and make sure the device can access the Controller's HTTPS management port."

Here's the process:

Custom Upgrade

Please choose the firmware file and upgrade the device.

Sending file..

It gets to 99% and sits there for a few minutes (about 5 mins) before eventually showing this error:

Upgrade Results

Failed (1)

ER605 upgrade failed: The device failed to download the upgrade file,please check your network configuration and make sure the device can access the Controller's HTTPS management port.

Previous firmwares always upgraded without an issue. Any ideas?

Firmware filename is: ER605v1_un_1.3.0_20230511-rel51317_up_2023-05-11_14.24.20.bin

  @yorkman

you need to open the controller's management port for your devices. deafult 443 or 8043 depending on which controller you use

  @shberge Thanks for your response but isn't the controller management the Omada (software) controller? How would I even attempt an upgrade without logging into it first? Which means I already have full local access to it (https://localhost:8043). And I never had to do anything special before to do an upgrade. So the Omada Controller HTTPS for Management is already open. Once logged in I go to Devices -> ER605 -> Config -> Manage Device and click Browse to select the custom firmware file. I've also tried just clicking the Up arrow button beside my ER605 device to run the Upgrade.

  @yorkman

this is new not long ago, the devices to be upgraded must have access to this port on the controller, so you need to check that you can reach the controller from the network the devices are connected to. you are on localhost and it is directly on the server, that does not mean that the router has a connection with the controller on port 8043
