Hello everyone,

this question was asked in a similar form, with the answer being to use minimum RSSI.

I use over 100 iot devices and 7 AP on 2 levels in a 2.4ghz only sid in the house.

It is not enough to simply set the minimum RSSI because the devices then try to connect to other APs several times a day and that is suboptimal for smart home devices.

That's why the ability to fix a client to the current AP is very important.

In order to connect to the best AP, it is sufficient to take it offline or block it for a short time. This step can also remain as it is, i.e. manual selection of the AP.

Now there should be the option to fix the client to a specific AP. This could somehow be noticed via the MAC of the AP and the client.

This option is already available from other manufacturers and would be a further enrichment for the TP link.

I hope that other users will join the request.

Best regards

  @nurix

The function you mentioned should be Lock to AP, it has been added as a new feature from controller 5.9.9, look at this.

Just striving to develop myself while helping others.
