Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.5 Build 20240522 Rel.75860

Hi,

I have a multi-brand setup in my office that includes a TP-Link TL-ER605 (HW v2.0) router with the latest firmware, a Cisco SG350 24P PoE switch, and a Ubiquiti U6 LR access point.

I created a new VLAN with the IP address 192.168.30.1 and VLAN ID 30, and I enabled the DHCP server for the range 192.168.30.100 to 192.168.30.200. When I connect my laptop, set the VLAN ID to 30, and configure the network for DHCP, the router assigns an IP address from the DHCP address pool correctly. However, it is not providing a VLAN IP for the Wi-Fi SSID.

I have configured VLAN 30 as a third-party gateway in the UniFi Controller and assigned this VLAN to the SSID "test_vlan." Despite this configuration, the router does not give out DHCP addresses for this SSID. I also attempted to set a static IP for the wireless device, but it still does not connect.

I haven't created any ACL rules, and I am not using the Omada Controller; I am using the web GUI to configure the TP-Link router. Can you help me understand why the router is not providing a VLAN IP to the Wi-Fi SSID?

Thank you!

VLAN is VLAN regardless of brand. if you connect the unifi access point to VLAN 30, you should not tag the SSID with VLAN 30, then you will be tagged against untagged and it will not work. so you can do it in two ways. connect the access point to untagged VLAN1 and then tag VLAN 30 on the SSID, or you can connect the access point to VLAN 30 but then you must remove the VLAN 30 tag on the unifi access point.

@MR.S can you explain little more please? Currently vlan 30 is tagged and if this vlan work i am planning to create more vlan tagged. Currently only vlan1 is untagged. Also i have total 30 access points across different floors all connected in poe switch.

I think it is easier if you explain a little better how you have connected everything together, you say vlan1 is untagged on the switch, is that correct, t

hen you have created a vlan 30 on the switch that is tagged, is that correct?

you also say that when you connect to a PC with a cable and set vlan 30 it works, is that also true?

if you show me a screenshot of the vlan setup on the ER605 and how the vlan setup looks on the switch, it's easier for me to understand what you're having problems with.

At the unifi access points you also have a unifi controller, right?

if you have vlan 1 untagged and vlan 30 tagged on all ports, it should work if you create a vlan30 on the unifi controller and select this in the ssid setup.

so start with some screenshots of the vlan setup on the ER605

if your setup looks like this on the router, it is correct on the router.

If the Cisco switch is connected to port 2,3 or 4 on the router, then the problem is with the cisco switch, everything else looks correct, Cisco swither can be a bit difficult if you don't have experience with them, so you have to learn cisco :- ) but if you have a screenshot of the switch vlan config, I can look at it and, if not, you have to go on to the cisco forum..

I don't think it matters, but when you don't have a unifi router, you create vlan this way. no match network name I se :-) but you understand..

  @MR.S

Actually connection from router is going to vlan aware unmanaged cisco switch sg94-24t. And only port 4 is using. Connection between router and switch is port 4.port 5 and port 3 are free. No network cable connected to port 5 to switch. Should i connect all ports to switch?

What should i do ?
