Mac not getting IP address when connecting to host LAN via CPE210 in client mode
I've just installed a CPE210 to connect a closed network to the internet via a host internet. It looks like
Internet <-> Host LAN Router (172.16.1.0/24) <-> Host LAN AP <-100m-> CPE210 <-Ethernet-> Macbook (for config and testing)
If followed the guide in https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/727/
If I connect the Macbook directly to the Host LAN's AP, it gets a 172.16.1.* address and everything works. If I turn off the WiFi on the Mac and connect via the Ethernet cable and CPE210, it doesn't get an IP address. The Macbook is definitely set to get its IP address via DHCP.
However, if I set a manual IP address on the Macbook (e.g. 172.16.1.66) it can access the Internet OK, so the problem is not physical connectivity. it seems the CPE210 is blocking the DHCP Request from the Macbook.
is this possible? If so, is there a setting I need to change?
