Will the TL-ER5120 improve a single connection?
Region : Australia
Model : TL-R470T+
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP : iinet
Hi There,
This might be a bit of a newbie question, but I am curious to know if the TL-ER5120 will create any improvement to a single Fibre Home connection?
Currently, I am connected to the NBN ("National Broad Network" for people not in Australia) which has a 50 Mbit up and 20 Mbit down connection.
The Fibre Modem has a single Gigabit port which connects to my TP-LINK TL-SG1024DE Switch. This provides Ethernet to more than 20 Ports around my house.
I also have a host of other WiFi devices connected around the house (tables, ipads, the usual!). I also have a NAS drive that I use for streaming movies around the house to various locations.
My Wifi Router (who's brand shall remain nameless due to poor performance) currently handles all DHCP, and the incoming WAN. This does not always leave me with stable downloads, and video streaming considering the speed of my connection (no complaints there). The thing I am looking for is stability.
The TL-ER51520 seems to tick a lot of boxes with what I am looking for (WAN, DHCP Reservation, configurable ports, Dos Defence and Access Control), the only thing I am unsure it ticks the box on is Qos?
Would this product be worth investing in, and integrating into my house? Thanks!
