Model: EAP773
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I've always noticed this missing from pretty much all Omada APs I've ever seen and used, And yet seen it supported on most other brands APs, both consumer and high dollar, and I've always wondered why.

But today I noticed when I had to use my EAP650-Desktop as an AP (normally it's just used as "wireless ethernet ports") That surprisingly it's supported in broadcast the 802.11d BSS Load information, yet no other AP that I've ever had from Omada or have ever worked with from Omada has done so, neither have TP-Links DECO line.

Noticed on this attached screenshot, the percentage and number and number in () underneath channel width. The percentage is channel utilization, and the number is number of clients associated with that BSSID.

The closer, high signal AP is the EAP650-Desktop, The lower signal is a EAP772-Outdoor, the 773, And again, frankly every other Omada AP I've seen looks the same and doesn't report it.

I could probably guess the answer, but is this ever going to be supported by more of the APs? 802.11e Was released in 2005, so it's not like it's new.

Of course this is just a side quest because I would just be happy with released firmware that's not older than a year for my EAP773

Hi  @Napsterbater

Thanks for posting here.

Most of Omada EAPs have already supported wireless QoS, and it can be configured under the standalone interface:

I believe future models won't abandon this feature.

Please note that this is not a commitment, and I cannot guarantee future plans.

@Vincent-TP I'm not talking about QOS, WMM/QOS has been required since 802.11n/WiFi 4 for "high speed", that's only part of 802.11e.

I'm talking about the "BSS Load" feature portion. That's the portion responsible for reporting/broadcasting number of clients associated to a BSSID an and radio utilization, That can be utilized by clients to assist them with roaming decision making.

As I showed in my screenshot the 650-Desktop Is the first and only TP-Link AP I've ever seen report that information, EAP660HD did not, the EAP772-Outdoor does not, the EAP773 does not, and even various DECO models have not.

That's why I was surprised to see it reported by the EAP650-Desktop.
