The ER7212PC is positioned as an all‑in‑one gateway, controller, and switch for small business and remote deployments. However, it lacks WireGuard support, even though WireGuard is already implemented on other Omada gateways and controllers.

This creates a major inconsistency in the Omada product line and prevents the ER7212PC from being used in modern WAN environments, especially those involving Starlink, LTE, or any ISP using CGNAT. In these environments, WireGuard is the only tunnel protocol that remains stable and performant.  Most importantly, this will allow subscription to VPN static IP service providers for use cases where a routable means back into the Omada managed site is required, but the CGNAT ISP prevents traditional DDNS solutions.  

OpenVPN and IPsec are no longer sufficient due to their overhead, poor NAT traversal, and reduced performance on high‑latency or mobile backhaul networks.

Adding WireGuard to the ER7212PC would:

• Align the device with the rest of the Omada ecosystem

• Enable multi‑site VPN deployments using a single controller

• Improve performance and reliability for Starlink and LTE users

• Make the ER7212PC competitive with Ubiquiti, MikroTik, and Peplink

• Increase adoption in professional and remote‑site environments

The hardware is fully capable, and WireGuard is already implemented elsewhere in Omada. This is a software‑level feature gap that prevents the ER7212PC from being deployed in scenarios where it would otherwise be ideal.

Please escalate this request to the Omada development team. WireGuard support on the ER7212PC is essential for modern deployments.
