Hi all,

I have a CPE510 device and I am trying to use it as an access point.

At the moment, I have my phone line in - ADSL router - cable up to CPE510 via PoE adapter.

I have it all set up in a way which I believe to be correct as my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+) can connect to it without issues.

However, none of the laptops (all wireless B/G/N capable) are able to find the network at all.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Craig

Easy, you bought a 5 Ghz device, and only 5 Ghz devices will see the SSID & connect
Your Galaxy S6 its one, and is double band
Your Laps are not, they are 2.4Ghz devices
Should bought a 210 not a 510
Clerks fault

Hi, I believe you are correct there. I have purchased some 5ghz USB WiFi dongles so hopefully that will sort it. Will update the thread when they arriveThanksCraig

So I've got it semi-working with USB GHz adaptors.

Unfortunately, the signal strength is pretty poor.

If I buy a WiFi antenna, will this make it better?

If so, can anyone recommend one please?

Thanks

Craig

Are you using TEST MODE or United States as Reguon
And set channel/frequency 149/5745 MHz
TM or US will give you 23 dBm & ch 149 it's one that any smartphone/Tablet or adapter will connect

Hi,

I've set it to that, still no go.

Can't even see the network on my phone now for some reason unless I'm stood next to the device.

Thanks

all APs by default have DHCP disabled
If your 510 its configured wrong, you might
See the 510, but it won't connect until your primary router (ISP) provides DHCP (Internet)
What you can do as a test
Enable DHCP and if you are on channel 149 you will connect
Don't deploy 510 outdoors until you get it right in lab (studio, home room)

Note:
upper you posted,
My smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+) can connect to it without issue

Later you posted
Can't even see the network on my phone now for some reason unless I'm stood next to the device.

This is Yin Yang
If this is as you posted, you changed some settings
If you have Teamviewer in your PC and use WHATSAPP
Send me a PM or post it if your account don't allows you to send PMs
510 has to be connected to your PC and able to log 510s inteface
I'm in Mexico, if you are in Europe consider time zone

Unfortunately it's already mounted outside, however I can access it from the web interface.

I've been messing about with it a lot and most recently after resetting back to factory settings, it could ping 8.8.8.8 from the admin web interface, but my mobile couldn't access the router (192.168.1.1) or internet (google.com) when connected to the wifi access point. I decided to try rebooting the device and now there seems to be no wifi again.

I appreciate your offer to help me out with TeamViewer. I'll get back to you on that one if that's ok as I am going away for a few days.

Thanks again, really appreciate you taking the time to reply to me.
