Hello,

Although the EAP ceiling mount access points state they support 802.1X they only support RADIUS authentication and do not support RADIUS accounting.

Looking at the GPL module which handles the RADIUS, this does in fact support accounting so it would be great if this could be added to the EAP controller software so that it can be configured.

We have already planned to add this feature to EAP controller in the future, while the ETA is not determined. Thanks for your suggestion,

It also would be helpful to have the EAPs sending a heartbeat to an external portal/auth server, for example by letting the user specify an URL, which contains the MAC address of the EAP (such as http://extportal.domain/some_url?mac=$mac_address) and a time interval this URL is to be requested (e.g. every 120 seconds). Would be great if you could consider this addition, too.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion in advance.

Would you please share more detailed information and purpose about this feature?
We are wondering why you need the EAP to send the heartbeat to external portal/auth server?
Besides, have you met any other APs support this feature? If so, please kindly let us know, thanks.
