Good news! I contacted tp-link support and they are working on a beta firmware for the EAP670 sold in Australia that will resolve this problem.

@Virgo I looked into that but I don't think this is the problem. You see, the EAP670 (US) version supports exaclty the same bands as the EAP670 (EU) version (see EAP670 US website specs screenshot)...
