@bilbil

Is this Windows 10 connected to the C6 2.4G or 5G or LAN port when you tried to ping the 92.55.82.xxx?

Who is your ISP, and what is the model number of the modem that the Archer C6 connects to? What if you connect this computer to the ISP modem directly, then do the same ping test, what is the result? Please show us the ping results to check, thanks.

How many devices connected to the C6 most of the time, will they behave the same as on this Windows 10?

@Kevin_Z its to 2.4G but no matter, if it's thru wireless nor LAN it does have the same problem with the net drop and packet loss and the ping is the same no matter if its wireless or LAN. My ISP provider is https://telekabel.com.mk/ and I use optic internet with 20/20 Mbps and I did call the providers for these drops cause I thought its cause of them they said that if a drop has been made by their network it won't reconnect after seconds or minutes (as long as the employers didn't fix the problem) :D The number of devices didn't make any changes on the performances because whenever I used it only nor 4 other devices the drop was consistent. The drops felt the same to the other devices, I use another laptop where also when a ZOOM is activated it will freeze depending on the latency of the drop, also same happened to my Smart LG TV whenever I used the internet on it and even on the mobile phones too. I can feel it the most whenever i online gameplay because in that way every drop will make the server to kick me from it and then I need to reconnect.

I wanna mention that I upgrade the framework to the beta version and by now it's performing well, there are some drops but they are rare.

The modem details are:

Item: G/EPON ONU

Model: A2801D

Re:Archer C6 V2 Firmware 1.3.0 EU - WiFi drops every few minutes after firmware upgrade

Hi

I have the TP Link Archer C6, EU version V2.0, purchased in Nov'20 in India.

I get the same problem of frequent disconnects (every 3 -4 Hrs) from the router and the clients cannot reconnect until the router is rebooted (been doing this atleast 2 -3 times/day with severe impacts to my WFH).

Tried multiple settings as advised by TPLINK Hotline support in India including, upgrading to latest Firmware (1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591 (4555), resetting the router, setting up fixed configuration settings for channel, channel width, Fixed IP for Primary DNS, secondary DNS, non default MTU size, disabling DOS protection etc.. (while my ISP suggests to the contrary of setting most this this up to Auto). Calls to the support persons do not have a resolution so far with promises of escalation. I also wonder why typical settings like DOS needs to be disabled.

TP-Link has introduced the smart switch feature which works really well, but sadly TP-Link Tech guys says to disable it.

What i have noticed is that the disconnects are majorly on 2.4GHZ, and more so when video conferencing Softwares e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Team Meetings used (UDP based).

this issue has been raised to TP-Link support on Email and regular calls to their tech support, still awating a resolution with ETA

anybody faced this issue of late with this brand/model? or know of any Non impacting fixes which can be tried out ??

Thanks,

Subha Lahiri

Here is the ping test, I had one big break while I was online playing, there was a 250 max ms calibrated on the overall results.

@bilbil , seems OK. Check or better change the cable between your ONT (the one from your ISP) and the router.

Hi all, I have increased the DHCP lease time from 120 Mins to 1440 Mins or higher, gives some noticeable improvements in frequency of disconnects. 5GHZ continues to be relatively stable when using OTT , games and Telecom/video platform for now. On 2.4 Ghz though getting disconnected , i am amuuch less and able to reconnect back mostly after a few mins (albeit manually without any need for reboot) Got a communication from TP-Link Support guys to try the Beta firmware https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202010/20201030/ArcherC6v2_eu-up-ver1-3-6-P1%5b20201030-rel60104%5d.zip. Not sure if i would like to implement this as there is no release notes or bugfix document with this package. Going thru the posts on this site, i find that the issue are not resolved satisfactorily and people are facing problems reverting back to stable version. TP-Link also has no ETA for release of a stable version or to resolve this issue on a war footing despite the negative feedback about this model Overall I think it's been a bad purchase decision. Thanks all who have put in your views and support in this community Regards S. Lahiri
