Cannot connect to EAP225, green light for 4 seconds
Hello - if this is not in the right forum, sorry, my first post...
Just bought a new EAP225 ceiling mount (aka TP-Link AC1350) and I cannot connect to it. I have it connected to the POE switch, the small light on the POE adapter is on, the LED on the device shines green for about 4 seconds, goes off for a second, then back on for 4 seconds, and repeats. I am trying to use it as an access point for my TP-Link Archer C4000 router (which is working fine, by-the-way).
It displays the two SSIDs, one for 2.4 GHz and one for 5 GHz, but when I try to connect, the connection times out (my Android phone says it couldn't get an IP address).
Although it is wired to my C4000 router, I cannot see it in the router. Since I cannot connect to it, or see it from the router, I cannot enter to do any admin work (reset SSID, use internet, etc).
I have downloaded the Omada app, but it says it cannot see any controllers, and when I go to add the EAP225, the software asks me to scan the QR code (which doesn't exist on the device), or enter the "Device ID" which also doesn't exist on the label on the bottom of the EAP225.
I have done a reset (pressed the reset button) and the results are the same.
Anyone have a suggestion to get this working?

@R1D2 Your reply to cgcmgr70 a couple months ago was my solution, also:
1) set computer to static address 192.168.0.10
2) connect ethernet cable between computer and EAP (via the POE adapter)
3) reset EAP225
4) when the green light is solid, connect a browser window to EXACTLY: http://192.168.0.254/
5) I was able to login and do the configuration
6) connect EAP via ethernet cable to a LAN port on the router and all is good (for now, anyway!)

@MrBillSt, the blink sequence (green on for 4 sec. - shortly off - green on for 4 sec.) indicates that the EAP had been adopted by an Omada Controller already. It searches for this Controller, but doesn't find it.
To return to normal operation you need to press the RESET button for 7 seconds (until the LED flashes yellow). This resets the EAP to factory defaults. During reboot it will blink green-red-yellow and then the LED will be green permanently. I also recommend to read the EAP225 Installation Guide for instructions on how to install an EAP.

@R1D2 Thanks for your quick reply. I guess I don't know what it means to be "adopted by an Omada Controller", is that the C4000 I've connected it to?
I pressed the reset button for 7 seconds, saw the LED change colors (orange-green-orange-green multiple times), then stayed green for a while (maybe a minute), then started the 4-second cycle again. In any event, I cannot connect to it from my MacBook Pro, my iPad, nor my Samsung S10 cell phone.
I have the Instalation Guide you referred to, and followed it, but doesn't help with the problem I'm having: I cant add it in the Omada app because there is no QR code nor Device ID, and I can't login from a web browser because I cannot connect to it.

No, it's a management tool. Just ignore that if you did not use it.

Yes, you're right. The point is that this LED sequence isn't documented, so we can only guess what it might mean.
Anyway, try the following after setting factory defauls:
- Connect the EAP directly to your MacBook using a data cable to the PoE adapter of the EAP.
- Set your MacBook to static IP address 192.168.0.10, netmask 255.255.255.0. Leave fields Router and DNS server empty. Apply settings.
- Start Safari and type http://192.168.0.254/ into the address field. This loads the web UI of the EAP.
- Login and set the EAP to a static IP from your home network, e.g. 192.168.1.20 or whatever you use.
Ensure it's an otherwise unused IP. Don't use DHCP dynamic IPs for stationary devices such as an EAP. - Apply/save the settings. Connection to the EAP now drops.
- Connect the EAP and the MacBook to your home network again, that's to your router or a switch connected to your router.
- Set the MacBook's IP back to DHCP or whatever it was before.
Now you should be able to reach the EAP's web UI under the IP choosen in step 4, e.g. 192.168.1.20.
Also, Omada App should find the EAP, but I would set it up using the built-in web UI.
If that doesn't help, there is something wrong with either your network setup or the EAP.

Hi Bill,
before you connect the EAP225 to your C4000 router make sure that your router's DHCP range fits to the factory settings for IP and DHCP Mask of the EAP225.
Let's say your router assigns IPs from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.99 and the EAP225's IP is on 192.168.1.1 then this combination won't work. If you don't see the EAP225's MAC address (which is printed on the label on the box) in your router's client list then something is wrong.
However, before you start from scratch determine the management method for the EAP225:
Controller mode (requires the Omada controller software to be installed on your notebook) - or -
The Standalone mode (means you manage the EAP225 via your web browser)
You may also run an IP scan with a WIN freeware tool like "Avanced IP Scan" from your notebook in order to see the IP clients in your local network.
Third option would be to install the Omada App from PlayStore and check the availability of the EAP225 SSID using the "standalone" option of the app.
If nothing helps a factory reset is the only viable option. Brute-force access to the EAP is to connect it via patch cable directly to your laptop (with no other IP connection to your notebook) and then go to your browser with 192.168.0.100 or 192.168.0.254 (can't rememder which was the factory default). If even this doesn't work then I am at my wit's end.
