Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 2.21

I have 4 EAP245 wired to gigabit switches.

I was wondering if make sense to enable mesh on then too. If mesh is only to enable connectivity for the AP, then it doesn't add any value. On the other hand, if together with fast roaming, band steering and load balance, mesh will help client devices to have better speeds and coverage, then I think yes.

how does the mesh function works ?

thanks

@AndreMartins, you do not need a mesh network for fast roaming, band steering and load balance. This are separate functions.

Enabling the mesh will not instantiate a mesh network unless you have at least one mesh node connecting wirelessly to a wired EAP.

If you don't have a wireless mesh node, you can safely disable the mesh network setting.
