Model: OC200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I am getting more acquainted with the Omada software, and other than a few glitches things are going fine.

I am wanting to be able to remote into the server that the OC200 is set with, and many say that port forwarding is not safe, and that I should use VPN.  Is there a video on how VPN should be setup?  Or is someone willing to set me in the right direction?  I have searched, and have not found anything worthwhile.  All I want to do is be able to get into the computer that will have the Omada setup on it.  I will want to do checking on the cameras if anything needs to be done, check computer temp, and do any troubleshooting if it ever needs to be done.  It will be a 40 mile round trip everytime I have to go take care of anything, and being able to remote in is almost a necessity.

I have never used VPN before, but many I have talked to swear by it.  I would appreciate anything that anyone has to offer.  Thanks..

I finally found something that explains, but I'm a little confused about the ip pool. What do I use for my ip pool? Sorry for the ignorance, but I really am new to this, and am having some fun along with some growing pains too.

@warllo Okay, thanks.  I had seen that and it helped a lot.  My big thing is the pool.  Let's say my system is 192.168.1.1-254.  I know this is spoon feeding, but what would you use?  I'm the only one that is going to be remoting in and checking on this system.  It doesn't have to be complex at all.

Thanks.

I think 192.168.2.1/24 is good. Or anything else you like, but not 192.168.1.x.

@Somnus Okay, that was what I needed.  Thank you so much.  It is a very easy thing to do.  I really didn't think it could be as easy as that, so I made it seem to be harder than it really was.

When you haven't done something like this before, you really don't know what to expect.  I should be good to go for that scenario.

I appreciate all of the responses.

Thanks
