UDP packets from LAN not going out

Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20210113 Rel.35074

I have an L2TP VPN server in AWS. I can connect to it from my laptop and other desktops. But for the machines in the LAN side of the TL-R605, the L2TP server is not reachable. I can SSH fine to the server but only L2TP packets or any UDP outgoing packets are not allowed. How to solve it?

@tekbird Update your firmware.

When you use client(PC) in the LAN of 605, you cannot even set up the L2TP tunnel? Do you have any ACL?

What other info you could give to the community? Do you have errors?

Hi @John1234, thank you, partly worked. after upgrading the firmware, now the internal router L2TP client can establish a connection. but from LAN clients still cant, there is no ACL

@tekbird

Sorry. wdmy?

LAN in ER605 cannot establish the connection to the L2TP server on the AWS?

Do you have double NAT? So, your 605 is not using any VPN. Just provides Internet to your LAN devices, LAN set up the VPN directly to the AWS L2TP server?

after upgrading firmware, it worked once, and then it gives the same error. the l2tp wont connect from within the router and from its LAN clients. in the system log it says WAN: IKE negotiation began in initiator mode. (Mode=Main Mode, Peers=xxxx<->xxxx) where xxxx are the ip of source and destination
