Am I using the correct PoE injector or do you recommend a reasonable price one that will work?

@ChrisGUK If their specs on the web site are correct, it wont run with a passive 24 volt injector.
I think it needs to be 802.3af/802.3at compliant
You probably want something like this (>44 volts)
