I cannot connect to my tp-link eap225. It just keeps trying but never connects.

Suggest you can check the IP address on this phone in this time, and if it got a IP like 169.254.X.X, it means the wired connection has some trouble (be sure the front device is working fine).
Change cables to test.
Still no work, you can try to reset the EAP and re-configure it.
And the reset hole is on the EAP not on the POE injector
