From what I know, most of the IP phone(via Ethernet connection) just require Internet access and communicate with the server IP. Nothing special needs to be done on the router side. It's not like IPTV

If your phone can only use RJ11 cable, then it should not be connected to a router. That kind of phone can only be connected to your Modem RJ11 ports, and all VoIP settings are on the Modem not the router.
