Hello,

I've got a new SG2210MP and EAP223.

The SG2210MP will not power the EAP223 unless I use a POE Injector (I have an extra from an EAP225 I bought previously). The odd thing is, when I power the AP with the injector the switch thinks its also providing POE power?

I'm confident the switches POE is working because it is powering several other devices.

Any help would  be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Anthony Sciutto

Thanks for the reply. Cable is roughly 50' long.

Tested the EAP223 with several different factory 3' cables and none of them powered the AP.

Tested the EAP223 on a TL-SG3452P that has an EAP225 and it didn't work either.

Tested with the POE injector and the 50' cable as well as the 3' factory cables all worked.

Thanks, Anthony Sciutto

This is a bad news. If you have tried a 3' cable and it does not work, it could be a problem with the EAP.

Do you happen to have another 802.3 PoE PSU? This should test if this is a hardware failure in the EAP.

If you have any other 802.3 PD, test them out on the switch to see if the switch is good.

So, at least you know which one you should RMA or exchange with the vendor.

  @Clive_A

I have other devices being powered by the SG2210MP through POE so I'm confident the switch is not the culprit.

I do not have another injector to test with.

Thanks for the help in troubleshooting! Sounds like my next step is to RMA the EAP223.

Thanks,

Anthony Sciutto

Hi @asciutto

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

How long is the cable?

Recommend you test a 3ft one and see if it can get power. It's quality sensitive.
