I have an AirBnB in Japan.  The internet connection is NTT flets fliber and the internet provide is Big Globe.  The speed is 1.5Gbps.  I want users selected an SSID, enter their email address, accept t&c and be redicted to a web page for the airbnb (it shows the services available).  I read this is a "captive portal".  I would like the main router to be wall mounted and have a mesh device in one hallway.  The unit is about 140m2 and 3 bedrooms and all on one floor.  It sleeps 6 people.  THere are also 2 TVs which run purley on internet.

Sorry but there are so many devices and I cannot understnad which one is best for me?

Do all devides have "captive portal"?  Does it cost extra?

Do all devices have remote admin management?

Can routers run on POE or do they just supply POE?

While I am in Japan, I hope the router is in English.

I want to have the router hang on the back of a TV but I understand that may be not the best place.  I guess I will have to wall mount the router on top of beside the TV right?  The internet connection comes from behind the TV only.

Thank you for your help

Captive Portal is a function on the router and it extends to the devices in the network so they need to be authenticated first before they get Internet access. The key is the router to host the Captive Portal page and with the help of the Controller which links to the RADIUS to achieve what you need.

Router+Controller and set up the RADIUS which achieves what you asked for, enter the email get the code, and connect.

(If you don't need the code, or verification of their email address, you don't have to set up the RADIUS. But if you need to authenticate, this requires a third party for code and email verification. The built-in portal cannot do it but requires RADIUS, a third-party service to do that. You just link the system to the RADIUS server.)

You can set up the ACL to limit their access to the admin page.

The router does not provide PoE. You should consider a PoE switch. Recommend you get a dedicated switch for switching and PoE.

The router is in English. Controller mode provides multi-lingual. I believe the Japanese GUI for the controller is available.

If possible, recommend you keep the networking devices in your control. A server room would be best. Plant the Ethernet cables or AP panels in the rented rooms instead of placing the router, switch, and controller there. They may accidentally reset them so they lose Internet and you need to reconfigure them.
