IP Cameras to Wireless Extender
I want to connect to an IP camera, that is connect to a router 500 ft from my main router. Two points here, first I've attempted this twice with a flaw in the set-up each time. First time with CCrane's help I purchased a long range directional antenna with an included router to find out it changed the subnet. An additional point here is my DVR is connected to a wireless extender that connects to my main modem/router. The DVR will only discover IP cameras that are on the same network. So that set up failed in that although I could directly connect with the camera and use it through other software, I could not view it through the DVR. I went back to CCrane and they sold me a different "Tube" that was to be a "Bridge" and they said it would maintain the same network. After many hours of troubleshooting they and the actual manufacturer figured out they had changed the newest "Tubes" to a new configuration and they no longer would bridge. I'm now wanting to try this again and seeking guidance. With my DVR wired to a wireless extender, then wirelessly connected to my main router/modem, can I cable to a CPE710, transmit to another CPE710, connect it to a router and then the router to the camera. What modes and with what configurations should all these devices be set up in, client, bridge, extender, access point? I understand the DCHP will need to be turned off. Lastly, when I do all this and the DVR does its search for available cameras will it "see" through all this to identify the camera as avaiable? I need more cameras in this location but can't expand until I get this one working. That's long winded already and seemingly still confusing. Any additional information needed in order to respond, then please ask.
