Hi, Good day, i would like to ask question regarding to my concern on my Access Point, i am using a Tplink Router ER8411 , Hardware controller OC 300, and Core switch SG3428XMP. my problem is when test the speed using my pc, the speed test result is higher 800 mpbs Downdload but when using wireless via access point it only gives around 5mbps. if some one here knows how to solve this  please help me, thank you so much

Is the Access point negotiating to its full link speed?

Is the cable faulty ?

Have you enabled a super-low rate network bandwidth limit?

Have you enabled a super-low rate SSID bandwidth limit?

Have you enabled a super low-rate switch port profile bandwidth limit, on the port the EAP is connected to ?

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x3, ES208G x1, EAP650 x6 Remote: ER7206 v2 x1, ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2, ES205G x1 Controller: OC300

What model access point do you have?

The things I mentioned are the only things on the router and switch side that would limit bandwidth to that degree

  @GRL i have 3 AP that connect to Switch hub

1 EAP 610

1 EAP 650

1 EAP 653

before i used a non manage switch and hardware controller and AP i never experience this high latency on my AP

but when i change my switch to a manage switch, the speed of my AP getting slow and the MS is more than 1000 to 1,500 MS

Hi  @Ljayclickerz

The speed drop to 5 Mbps appears to be caused by a misconfiguration. Please provide the following info:

1. The page of created WLAN, please include the info I circled;

2. The page of the device page so we would know the firmware version of your EAP units;

3. What's the profile of the EAP uplink ports?

4. Did you test with different clients?  Did this low speed happens to all wireless clients?

5. What kind of tools did you use to run the speedtest? Please try with different ones, or go to speedtest.com;

6. How far away are you from the EAP units when testing the EAP speed? Please move closer;

7. Which band are you connecting to? Please test with 5GHz.

In the meantime, please refer to the following to optimize the wifi performance of the EAP.

How to optimize wireless performance of EAP products
