Model: ES210GMP
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2

I cannot get Omada "Easy Managed" devices like ES210 picking up the controller URL from DHCP Option 138, other devices like accesspoints work fine.

You have Wireshark to see if the incoming(to ES switch) packets contain the DHCP 138?

The ES switch supports DHCP Option 138.

ES switches pick up option 138 fine on sites with the controller locally hosted.  If its a remote site, this doesnt seem to work.  Have to log into the switch gui in standalone and manyally set the controller ip / url and then they are found by the controller just fine.
