Camera Tampering alert triggered by scheduled reboot of NVR and camera
Hello,
Using a C340I camera with an NVR1004H-4P and the VIGI mobile app for Android here.
In the NVR settings as well as in the camera settings, I scheduled a weekly reboot to reset the RAM and prevent any freezing after many weeks or months working non-stop. I noticed this combined scheduled reboot triggered a camera tampering alert. First, I decided to watch the video on my phone because I thought someone had tried to tamper the camera; the video didn't show any unusual event. Only then, when I took a look at the time on top, did I realize this fixed time (e.g. 00:00) fell on the time scheduled for reboot.
I would expect the camera and NVR could communicate to inhibit Camera Tampering alerts when a reboot is planned... Don't you think this is a shortcoming? I'm thinking about disabling camera tampering alerts altogether because if you get used to frequent false flags, the day the alert is genuine, you don't even bother looking at your phone notification. Video tampering doesn't even have an arming schedule in the NVR settings, otherwise in the meantime, I would have disarmed it at the scheduled reboot time.
Is this a known problem? Could you forward my problem report to the product engineers so they can improve the integration of the cameras and NVRs in the future?
Thank you! 🙏
