Model: EAP650
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.7

Hi there,

I have 3 x EAP650(EU) v1 running latest firmware version 1.3.7 - All of them connected via a Cisco 3850 Gigabit POE switch (no interface errors whatsoever)

Omada Software Controller version 6.2.0.17 (running on proxmox)

I updated all 3 EAPs to the latest firmware version 1.3.6 and then another one came up version 1.3.7 so updated to that. All 3 EAPs now run 1.3.7. I can see that 5G radio performance is degraded on all 3 of them. No settings in Omada Controller have been changed. 5G WiFi is not as fast as it used to be. When running EAPs on firmware version 1.1.3 I would always get 800-920 Mbps speedtest on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (No recent software changes, running latest iOS), now all I'm getting is 300 Mbps at best. My speedtest server is local - so I'm not internet dependant. I would like to roll the EAP firmware back to 1.1.3 however I remember it mentioning that this update is not reversable, to roll it back contact support. Can someone help me to roll these back please? Thanks!

Regards

I have 8 EAP650 v1, all of them now on 1.3.7

All still achieve 940mbit + on 5ghz/160 without issue

Some things are known to reduce the performance to that level - do you have "prohibit wifi sharing" enabled ?  also, any rate limits set to above 300mbit will still be limited to around 300

  @GRL Thanks for your reply,

As I said earlier, I never changed any settings. I never had rate limiting or prohibit wifi sharing enabled. The whole situation is very strange. I only upgraded the firmware. Would it be OK for you to post your settings so that I can compare them to mine?

  @GRL Ignore my previous comment. May I just say thank you very much. I decided to go back and check the settings and Prohibit WiFi sharing was indeed enabled!!! I have no idead how. I never enabled this setting. Since I only have omada wireless and nothing else, I never really played with its wireless settings. I set this up once in Jan2025 and was enjoying it ever since, because it just works. Anyways disabling Prohibit WiFi sharing brought back the speed on 5G. Thank you!

Teymur.
