Model: CPE510
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.2.2 Build 20201111 Rel. 58267 (4555)

Hi all,

Hoping for some assistance. I have 2 CPE510s set in a AP/Client mode.

On the AP side, it is connected to an MR550 4G router, which also holds the DHCP and the whole network.

They are only playing the role of a cable between 2 locations in my yard.

DHCP on the CPEs is disabled.

Distance between the two is about 50 meters. - distance in the web intefrace is set to 0.1.

Maxtream is disabled - ideally i would need a few more end devices to connect to the AP 510, so this is why.

They are both on the same subnet (.111 is the AP and .112 is the client).

The client will be connected to an AX55 in an Access point mode, where the AX55 will then throw its own SSID in the secondary location. Locations are too far for simple repeaters like the 705 for example.

The issue is - the network is set on the AP, the client sees the AP from the web interface and I have locked its connection to the AP....but it does not hold the connection. It seems it connects and drops - the stations monitor on the AP shows connection lasts between 3 and 5 seconds and then drops.

Meaning the Stations linked on the ap constantly shifts 1-0-1-0-1-0.

The network details are entered properly on the client, distance set to 0.1, transmit power is set to 10 dBm.

It looks like the client repeatedly attempts and fails to hold the connection...but I do not understand why.

If anyone has any ideas - please feel free to share them.

I will provide relevant screenshots from both devices tonight when I go on site.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @smunisto

Thanks for reaching out to TP-Link Business Forums.

What's the hardware version of your CPE? Please upgrade it to the latest firmware version if possible.

Does the issue occur on your mobile phone/laptop etc.?

Are there a clear line of sight between the two CPEs without any obstacles that might affect the signal transmission? Can you put them within a same room and check if the same issue happens?

Adjust the TX power from 10dBm gradually to 20dBm to see if any difference.

Make sure two CPEs are not using a DFS channel by manually selecting a non-DFS channel.

If you enable Maxtream temporarily, would the same issue occur?

Swap the two CPEs role and check it again.
