Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20190823 Rel.42002

I have an OC200 Controller with 4 Access Points connected to it.

Sometimes, when i leave company and check the connected clients from home, my phone still shows as connected to the wifi at work.

This cant be true as i am then connected to my home wifi and i am arount 10km away...

I am checking the connected devices to make sure nobody forgot to take his devices with him (they should not lay around in the office...)

Is there any way to fix this false-online-state?

It doesnt happen everytime, but around 50-80% i would say.

@jwe how long does your phone appear to be connected? AFAIK, there is a time-out until the controller should disconnect inactive clients.

Can you give more information please? Which EAPs? Which firmware version? Are you just associating/disassociating with/from WiFi (no portal) or do you use a portal? If so, which auth method? How do you access the controller at home? Through the cloud? Did you clear caches of the browser already? Can you post a screenshot of the client list? Etc.

When devices disassociate from one of our EAPs they disappear in the controller's client list after a short time (and we have thousands of users each day disassociating from EAPs on our WLAN hotspots, so I would have noticed if they were all still listed as connected over the years, since we do not manually dis- or re-connect any device).

@jwe

I have

3x EAP245 2.3.0 Build 20190731 Rel. 51932

1x EAP225 2.6.0 Build 20190726 Rel. 52366

OC200 - 1.2.0 Build 20190823 Rel.42002

Check for upgrade says i am up to date.

I have multiple ssids in different VLANs

The Problem seems to arise when:

Connect SSID_0 (VLAN15) IP 10.0.15.0/24

--wait around 15 minutes --

Connect to SSID_1(VLAN20) 10.0.20.0/24

--wait another 15 minutes --

Go away and keeps showing as connected with low signal strength.

Wifi works connecting to both SSIDs (IP of Phone changes according to DHCP in the VLAN)

I just got an email from TP-Link support regarding this post. Gonna Update here, what they find out.
