Model: OC200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have seen this discussed in other threads, but another nudge for TPLINK to add the abily to add custom names for devices in the controller.

Quite a few of my smarthome IoT devices either have no hostname - unknown or pretty meaningless ones, and no ability to set them anywhere, and nor do they pick them up from the DHCP server.

Needs somewhere to add custom names from a cross reference of the MAC address.

Would make managing the network much easier.

@biomed32uk

Thank you for your suggestion.

We have plan to add this feature in our later version of Controller. When we finish it, we will release it on our website.

@forrest : Great I think we would also find this very useful. We have same issue with few  *static (always connected) Android devices (Unknown host or some duplicate ones like Redmi, Redmi-5A, etc). Ot would really be nice if we could assign custom host names to these devices.

@forrest Look forward to that update! Not sure why the controller doesn't pick up my DNS entires, but really welcome this feature request.
