I have this setup.  Indoor EAP245V3 on Ethernet.  EAP225-Outdoor on wireless MESH.  I get roughly 120-170 Mbit/sec throughout DL & UL when my iPhone XSM is connected to 5.8GHz and roams to the outdoor AP which is using wireless backhaul..  One AP provides great coverage for my back yard (100 wide by 50 deep, AP mounted in center of 100' widt).  With this setup I get some side yard coverage, but because my house is 2 story and in the middle of the properly, it blocks the signal in most of the front yard.  I bought a second outdoor unit for the front, but haven't deployed it yet.

Since there are two wireless hops (phone to Outdoor AP, Outdoor AP to indoor AP), usuable throughput is, very roughly speaking, 1/4 of air link speed.

So as a very rough approximation.  If your air link speeds were 866 for AP to AP and AP to phone.  This would be 866 / 2 = 433 for the first hop, then 433 / 2 = 216 for the second hop -- best case.  So I'm actually quite pleased with ~150 Mbit/sec.

Also note, my Outdoor AP in MESH config is getting ~20-30% higher throughput now that it is linked to the EAP245 vs. what it was getting when linked to the 225.  My home network is fairly busy (~45 STA's) and this was impacting the throughput of the 225.  After upgrading to the 245's everyone (indoor and out) got faster -- even through all of my STA's are 2x2 or 1x1 (I have no 3x3 STA's).

I also found that the outdoor AP was not working well in MESH config when mounted on the side of my house/deck (too close to the indoor AP).  I moved to across the yard and mounted it to my fence anot now it works great!

My kids are camping in the backyard right now, in a tent, finish up school work and streaming shows before bed.

Thank you for your reply. I was planning on getting a 245 and 225 for indoor and a 225 outdoor but I think I will just go with two 245 for indoor instead.
