Unexplainably slow speeds with a 1G access point plugged into a 10G switch
I have a simplified setup: a 10G switch, a server plugged into a 10G port, an EAP610 access point plugged into a 1G port.
The problem is that the wi-fi transfer speeds from the server to a wireless client are limited to 180-230 Mbit/s.
- I tried replacing the EAP610 AP with EAP245 - exactly the same effect
- Tried plugging a laptop instead of the access point - getting full 1G speed
- This one is really interesting: reducing the link speed between the server and the switch from 10G to 1G fixes the wi-fi transfer speeds and I start getting ~700-750 Mbit/s!
- Tried playing with the flow control settings on the switch on both ports, but that didn't really have any effect.
How can I troubleshoot this further?
