Hi there,
can anyone confirm if EAP225 V3 supports DFS?
I saw on firmware: says 8. Supports DFS channel function.
But on other website, ppl are saying not supported.
so can anyone confirm it?

It's really essential that future TP-Link products support DFS channels in the USA market. I realize this will require additional FCC testing.
Given the large install base of EAP225 and EAP245 units, it would be ideal if these (V3) could be certified for use in the U-NII-2A/C U-NII-3 bands.
If not, please consider a V4 of these products that are DFS compliant.
For future 802.11ac products have a 3 radio solution (2.4GHz, 2x 5.8GHz, with >3x3 chains per radio) and full MESH support would be ideal. This way we can use one of the 5.8GHz radios on one of the DFS channels for high speed wireless backhaul.

They are pretty useless, they keep saying coming soon. Its been 2 years and they dont want to do it.

@steve_togo, TP-Link decided to not add DFS for the US version (see this post here). They never promised to add DFS for the US version.
DFS for the EU version of EAP225 has been added to allow using the U-NII-2A band for indoor use and the U-NII-2C band for outdoor use (by EAP225-Outdoor), the latter being the only band allowed outdoors in the EU.
I don't understand why US residents want to use U-NII-2A/C with DFS if you have the choice to use the non-DFS U-NII-3 band indoors and outdoors. DFS channels are shared with lots of other commercial and military services which have priority over RLAN and thus can cause frequent disruptions of RLAN services.
DFS is so bad that our company prefers the U-NII-3 channel 5865 MHz for commercial outdoor links in the EU, which doesn't require DFS, but isn't available for public use, only for authorized commercial backhaul services (Broadband Fixed Wireless Access, BFWA), albeit we can't use this channel with EAPs (but with CPEs), while US residents can use it also with EAPs.

@R1D2 As a US resident, I can attest that even when I lived less than 1 mile from an regional airport, with control tower radar, using DFS channels indoors in a suburban environment was hugely beneficial. This was with Apple consumer wifi equipment (which hasn't won any awards!). Every couple days it would hop to a different DFS channel or hop off of DFS only to return to the DFS band in another few days. It worked wonderfully and the clients changed channels with the APs accordingly. Would really be great if TP Link would support DFS in the US....when you have 40 other APs visible from your living room, you realize how starved for spectrum the 5Ghz band is now becoming.

Still hoping for USA DFS support, eventually. If not on the EAP225/245 series, they should at least add it to the new 610/620/660/680/690 series.
