Should the TL-SG108PE Switch be able to power a EAP110-Outdoor AP (TP-Link N300 )
Thought I'd make my life a tad easy and by products from the same Manuafacturer to keep compatibility to the maximum>
So I have this TL-SG108PE Switch that provides POE over 4 of the 8 ports. I also have the EAP110-Outdoor (N300) Outdoor AP.
The EAP110-Outdoor was supplied with a POE injector box that works fine with the cables I have. However, if I ditch the Injector and try and plug it into one of the POE ports on the SG108PE, it simply refuses to power on.
Am I missing something, or are these two products incompatible?

As I read the specs, it should be compatible. However, I noticed a discrepancy in power consumption between the Dutch and English version of those specs.
In the English version (https://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/cat-5693_EAP110-Outdoor.html#specifications) I found:

EAP110-Outdoor PoE is not compatible with TL-SG108PE PoE.
EAP110-Outdoor needs 24 volts »passive« PoE, while the TL-SG108PE provides 48 volts according to the IEEE 802.3af standard. As to my knowledge, there is (currently) no switch available from TP-Link which supplies 24 volts passive PoE, but there are switches available from other manufacturers which support passive PoE aka 24 volts PoE.
There are inline converters sold by other manufacturers to convert from IEEE 802.3af PoE level to passive PoE level, so you could use the EAP110-Outdoor with an IEEE 802.3af-compatible switch by using such a converter.
As for max. power consumption, the EAP110-Outdoor v1 consumes up to 6.3 watts, while the v3 model consumes max. 3.1 watts, provided that the data sheet is correct on power consumption.

Its been awhile, and just saw this because I purchased also a TL-SG108PE and it powered my OC200 and a EAP225-outdoor V1 but sad that it can't power my home ap which is EAP110-outdoor V3. I got good result with the switch QOS or my ISP has improve there infrastruct hahaha. But both EAP models got the same poe adaptor and both 24v but you've said tl-sg108pe only provide 48v... should I remove my MAIN EAP225-outdoor in the switch? and power it with the poe adaptor?

@JessieG, EAP225-Outdoor supports both, 24 volts passive PoE as well as 48 volts 802.3at. EAP110-Outdoor only supports 24 volts passive PoE. So, you can power EAP225-Outdoor with your 802.3at switch, but not EAP110-Outdoor.
