Hello TP-Link support,

I'm in love with your access points, but with one caveat. The ability to name clients. This feature is on most home routers and most Enterprise access points as well. Why can I not name my clients? Unfortunately, in a world of iOT, most smart devices are not very good at giving a descriptive name to their devices, via DNS or PTR. So, having the ability to click on a client and give it a nickname is priceless. Can you please consider updating your controller software to support naming your clients please?

@nordicblue We are not gonna get it, people have been requesting for more than a year and they provide standard responses like Thanks for your feedback and it has been passed along.

Pretty useless, I wish I had not bought their AP's. Small things like this does make an impact on daya to day stuff like these.

@nordicblue

We have received some feedbacks about this feature and now we have plan to add it in later version. Now we are developing it and when we finish it, we will upload it to the website.

@steve_togo

We are sorry that our products bring you some inconvenience. Normally when we receive the feedabck, we will add it to the suggestion list first. If there are many feedbacks, we will consider to consult it with our PE colleagues. And normally we will try to add it in our later software, it may need some time.

But if the feedback is little,normally we will not change it immediately.

For naming for the clients, we are working on it. When we finish it, we will upload the software to our offical website.

@SunTi, naming clients will come with Omada SDN Controller soon. No need to bring this issue on top every other day.
