EAP22 without an OMADA Controller
Hi EAP Gurus,
I would like to ask if setting up a MESH network using 3 units EAP225, if the 3 units has been configured already as linked using MESH, if the OMADA controller is turned off, can the LINK still be UP always?
thank you.

Hi @ozzians,
My understanding is yes the MESH will continue to work as configured (after the Omada server is shutdown). But I'm not 100% sure how AP uplink failover would be handled if this occured while the Omada was shutdown. For example, I have one EAP which is normally connected via Ethernet (over MOCA), and sometimes this uplink flakes out and the AP will failover to wireless. I suspect this functionality may not be fully capable when the server is shut down.
Many of these extended features (like Fast Roaming) are not directly support by the AP themselves and required "enhanced or extended" support from the server.

Yes, it will work once it has been configured, except re-configuration due to automatic fail-over needs the controller running all the time.

Yes, the MESH will still work when Omada Controller is turned off, but if Mesh AP is down, the downlink AP of this Mesh AP will not reconnect to other Mesh AP automatically, since it is controlled by Omada Controller. So it is still recommended to keep the Omada Controller online all the time.
