Omada SDN Hardware Compatibility
Hello,
I was wondering whether the new omada sdn will support the current generation EAP245v3 and EAP225v3. Would it still be available self hosted or will it be cloud only?
Also will it support current jetstream switches such as the TL-SG1016PE, TL-SG3424P v1, or the T1500G-10MPS?
I'm looking to purchase a gigabit poe switch and I was wondering whether it would be worth it to buy a jetstream over a used one for the omada SDN.
Thanks!
Edit: Thanks for pinning the post admin, I am glad this post is helping others! I have edited the title to more accurately reflect what this post is in case any new posters confuse this for a general suppor thread. Thanks again!

@Fae Ah got it thanks, I guess I'll have to return the T1500G-10MPS then and wait for the new ones to come out, good thing I havent set everything up yet. I'll probably end up just buying a used POE switch since there doesnt seem to be much else to configure that I need and it's less than a third of the price.
@Obrenner From my understanding of what @Fae posted Omada SDN only supports the new switches and there will be no firmware updates to support any current jetstream switches. I was also hoping for a firmware update for the T1500G-10MPs that would support it but kinda disappointed now. It's just confusing because in the manual it looks like it works but they probably don't want the old switches to compete with the new ones so you have to buy the new one now.

I updated the OC200 and my EAP's yesterday. Running smooth but the new dashboard looks a little bit messy. Maybe I need to adjust it to my wishes.

Hi SledgehammerNL, may I ask what are your screen dimensions?

@R1D2 I watched it on a 15,6 inch laptop and a 32 inch tv. I thought it would look more like the previous dashboard.

SledgehammerNL, the issue here is that Omada Controller uses tables for a grid-layout. We use 13" laptops for management, which fall behind the minimum screen size defined the Omada UI. I did report this to TP-Link for V2.7 already, but it still requires bigger screens to show items in a clearly arranged form.
At least, with SDN controller it now can be configured which columns should be displayed in lists, but IMO it would be much better to not rely on absolute sizes of table cells – or even better use grids and flex containers instead of tables for layout.
For example, this is the AP list with fixed table cells on 13" screen (note the horizontal scroll bar and the line breaks in table cells):
This is how it could look when avoiding fixed-size table cells and no white-space wrap (CSS modified to let the browser decide the layout). Scroll bar is gone.

Hi,
Maybe I missed this. But has the SDN firmware been released for the OC200 in the USA market? I don't see it on the website nor in the Omada App. No rush, just curious,
