Dear @RicBa,

Do you mean that the wireless devices connected to the EAP's WiFi cannot see the printer?

How do you connect the AirPrint Printer, by WiFi to the EAP or by cable to your main network?

Please check the info below for troubleshooting.

1. Check the IP address obtained on the printer, verify the AirPrint Printer is in the same network with EAPs.

2. Use the Ping command to check the connectivity between the printer and your device.

3. Confirm if you have Guest Network enabled for the EAP wireless network. If yes, please disable Guest Network to have a try.

Kindly note that SSID with the guest network will block clients from reaching any private IP subnet.

Best Regards!

@Fae

Dear Fae,

Do you mean that the wireless devices connected to the EAP's WiFi cannot see the printer?

Yes I do. Only Apple devices using AirPrint Protocol cannot see the printers ( HP and Brother), Windows devices can see and print.

How do you connect the AirPrint Printer, by WiFi to the EAP or by cable to your main network?

The printers are connected by WiFi 2.4 Ghz.

1. Check the IP address obtained on the printer, verify the AirPrint Printer is in the same network with EAPs.

Yes, they are.

2. Use the Ping command to check the connectivity between the printer and your device.

Ping runs OK

3. Confirm if you have Guest Network enabled for the EAP wireless network. If yes, please disable Guest Network to have a try.

Guest Network disable.

Thanks

Dear @RicBa,

Thank you for the update.

Only Apple devices using AirPrint Protocol cannot see the printers ( HP and Brother), Windows devices can see and print.

It seems to be an issue between AirPrint and HP/Brother printers, you may contact the manufacturer of the printers for further suggestions.

For your reference, try Bing or Google the issue "AirPrint Protocol cannot see the printers ( HP and Brother)", you could also get some suggestions shared on the Internet.

Best Regards!

Dear @RicBa,

Sorry for the ill-considered suggestions in my last reply. I'm wondering if the issue has been resolved?

Our senior engineers helped to run some tests with the printer Canon IP7280 and Canon MX922 in the lab, but failed to reproduce the problem. After connecting iPhone and printer to either the same EAP or different EAPs, the print on iPhone works without issues.

If you still need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We'll be glad to assist you.

@Fae

I have the same problem with a Canon TS3100 on a network composed of one EAP225 V3 and EAP225-Outdoor controlled by Omada 4.1.5 on Ubuntu.

I can ping it from my Apple devices but can't print and canon apps can't connect to printer.

windows computer can access printer correctly. It stopped working few months ago. The only change I had when it stoppedmworking is the addition of the Outdoor EAP. But still don't work even if they are on the same AP...

@RicBa I have exactly the same problem.

Using OC200, ER605 & AC1350 with a HP Envy 6230 printer.

Printer connected to the AC1350, with 'excellent' signal.

I'm able to print via the HP app, and ping the printer but can't print from iOS or MacOS devices using AirPrint. Is there a setting within the. Omada controller that needs to be. changed to unblock the protocol?

May I check the hardware and firmware version of your EAP225?

Are your iOS devices connected to the same SSID and the same Band (2.4GHz or 5GHz) as the printer connected to?

Did you have any advanced features like Airtime Fairness, Band Steering enabled on the controller?

If there is, you may disable the advanced features and check if it makes any difference.

@Fae

Hardware: EAP225(EU) v3.0

Firmware: 5.0.5 Build 20210604 Rel. 51118

I don't have any of those settings enabled, have left it all as default. I've used the same SSID across both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Interestingly the printer is showing as connected to LAN, but it's definitely on the wireless.. The iPhone tends to connect via the 2.4GHz band.

Do you mean that the OC200 controller shows the printer is connected to LAN instead of the wireless?

How is the EAP225 connected in your network? Do you have the EAP mesh feature enabled?

Could you please describe your network topology/diagram for further checking?

Besides, what's the IP addresses obtained on the printer and the iPhone, are they in the same IP subnet?

When you try to print using AirPrint, is there showing any error message?

If it shows "No AirPrint Printers Found", you may ensure AirPrint is enabled as it's suggested in the HP guide below.
