I have fix ip. for example 1.1.1.1

Local IP: 192.168.1.0 , 255.255.255.0

VPN IP Pool 192.168.2.1-2.10

L2TP Server config:

I tried this configurations. What could be wrong? I can't connect to the VPN server.

The way what I want to use: Configure a L2TP connection in Windows 10 operation system for connect to the router from home. I want to use the company's network folders and network programs from home.

I configure in Windows 10 the VPN connection with Fix ip,  L2TP method, with pre-shared key and I accepted Chap protocolls.

The computer still can not to connect to the VPN server.

Can somebody help me? Anyway this router can to work as like as I want to use it?

Dear @Barry212,

I tried this configurations. What could be wrong? I can't connect to the VPN server.

The way what I want to use: Configure a L2TP connection in Windows 10 operation system for connect to the router from home. I want to use the company's network folders and network programs from home.

The VPN IP pool is configured to be a different subnet from the router's LAN. To get the VPN to work, please also configure Multi-nets NAT on the router.

Go to Transmission---NAT---Multi-Nets NAT. Add an item of 192.168.2.0/24.

This detailed instruction may assist you better, https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2158/

Note: The router can work as what you want, and there is no need to configure L2TP Client on the router.

@Fae

Hi, thank you for your answer. I configured the Multi-Nats, looks like that not this was th problem. After it I tried to config the VPN IP pool in the same IP range what is my Local Lan subnet.

I tried to forward the 4500, 500 and 1701 ports.

I deleted the L2TP VPN Client configuration, now only have the Server and the added user settings.

Anytime when I try to connect to the router I got a 789 VPN error code. I tried some solution what I found on the internet, but it doesn't work yet.

Current configs: The VPN Ip pool in the same ip range.

Dear @Barry212,

Did you try to create and configure the AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule registry value as suggested in the link below?

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/48672936-c584-499d-aba1-e0a00a157cc4/windows-10-vpn-l2tp-connection-error-789

In addition, please try to connect to the VPN server on a different client such as cellphone to check if it works.

@Fae

I tried this method. Not worked.

I checked the Services:

IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules.

 IPsec Policy Agent.

Remote Connection Auto Manager

Remote Connection Manager

All service runing.

I created the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesRasMan\ProhibitIpSec Dwords too,

In the firewall I enabled the udp ports.

It's still Isn't working.

Dear @Barry212,

Please try following the steps below to configure the L2TP VPN server and User account on the TL-R600VPN:

And then configure the L2TP Client on the remote PC, https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1629/

If possible, try a different L2TP Client (phone or laptop) for checking.

@Fae

Sorry for late reply.

Unfortunatly, still can not to connect to the vpn server. I tried it with phone and pc too.

Now I think that maybe the default L2TP Ipsec profile isn't good for windows. I tried to create a new one with this datas:

But When I click to OK i got this messege:

"For an IPsec policy with the same IP address at both ends, the parameters in Phase-1 should be kept the same."

And I don't know that what could be wrong.

The Remote Host is 0.0.0.0 because I want to connect to the VPN from anywhere.

Any idea for this?

From the screenshots, it seems that you are configuring IPSec Client-to-LAN VPN.

Note that the IPSec Client-to-LAN VPN would require a 3rd-party IPSec VPN Client software so that you can get connected.

Here is the CG for your reference. https://www.tp-link.com/us/configuration-guides/configuration_guide_for_vpn/?configurationId=2981#l2tp_client-to-lan_vpn_configuration_3_3

If you would like to use the built-in VPN client on a phone or PC to connect the VPN server, please kindly follow the instruction below to configure L2TP Client-to-LAN VPN instead. https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2158/

The Remote Host is 0.0.0.0 because I want to connect to the VPN from anywhere.

I suggest you to configure L2TP Client-to-LAN VPN to achieve your demands.
