channel list should be updated/populated with only the 5ghz channels that are specific to the bandwidth

i.e

20Hz - all channels shown

40Hz - limited channels 38,46,54,62,102,110,118,126,134

80hz - limited channels 42,58, 106, 122 ,138

not exhaustive list but you get the idea, if a user chooses 80hz bandwidth then channels 42,58,106,138(not used in EAP for same strange reason) should only be available to choose, not the whole 20Hz width

At the moment my 245 EAP is set to use 80Hz ONLY and connected to channel 104, how is that, when its not a 80hz channel?

Hi @Pugs,

I agree with you, and have always found this rather confusing on the TP-Link radio channel selection interface.  Though, I have seen some variable nomenclature across vendors as to how the wide channels are named.

For me, in the USA, for 5.8GHz 80MHz, I generally refer to channels 36 & 149 (aka the left most 20MHz block of the contiguous 80MHz region).  Others "split" the naming and use, for example, channel 42 to descrive the "center" of the 36-48 80MHz range.

But I've also seem some claim that the 20MHz "sub" channel name actually does matter as this specifies the "control channel" if you will, and the other 3x20 channels ar just "accessory data carriers".

Finally, if one chooses the newer 20/40/80MHz automatic negotiation mode, then the specific 20MHz sub-channel selected may have more bearing.

@Pugs

Agree that TP-Link should indicate the standard channel numbering when switching bandwidth from 20 to 40 to 80 and 160MHz.

I believe the following is the authoritative channel numbers that should be used.
