Implemented mDNS Service
Hello I was wondering in Omada where I can find the mDNS service ?
I have a TL-R605 router but some IoT devices (especially the once that use Apple HomeKit) do not work or better are unreachable when I put them in a different subnet using VLANs, this is very annoying.
Looking on internet everyone many tutorial (all made on Ubiquiti or sometimes other routers) explain that mDNS repeater is needed, but can't find it in Omada anywhere.
Or eventually is there a workaround or non explicit way to have this done ?
Thanks

Thought I'd check in again, any timeline for the update on TL-R605 v1?

@Fae Since enabling mDNS for supporting devices in separate VLANs on my IoT network, all Apple devices on the network keep incrementing their names thinking that there is a duplicate name on the network. Has TP-Link seen this in testing? My IoT devices work in sepate VLANs now, but this issue with name changes on Apple devices is driving me nuts.

Almost 2,5 years later from the start of this thread and still no mDNS for the TL-R605 v1.0.
why is TP link not fixing this s**t????
Have seen promises for over a year now but still nothing here....
I'm starting to think they can't get the V1.0 to work with mDNS.
Could TP-link contact me in order to swap the v1.0 to a v2 on there cost? while it seems that's the only solution except for trowing all hardware out and getting new hardware from an other brand.

There is a beta release for the 605 v1 that has mdns Repeater functionality included.

Has anyone following this thread tried the beta firmware?
Personally I just want stateful firewall, which is says is included, plus a dhcp fix that would be nice.

I have now installed the Beta firmware and it all seems to work fine for now.
Still reconfiguring my ACL but everything else works for now.

Let's respect and celebrate fact that after years TP-Link finally made it, and carefully introduce mDNS for er605v1.
Now it is 'so called' early beta '?', but - after few weeks of testing - it could be full release.
I will not say word about testing it on community instead of own lab :-)
Already replaced one of V1 devices with pfsense, but there are other people waiting for this firmware for sure.
@Fae say something :+)

I had to uninstall the beta as I was getting random reboots of the router.
I'll try again when they release it for real

Is there documentation on the mDNS functionality? I'm new to this and trying to set up my equipment so the Google Homes on my IoT network can communicate with Home Assistant on my primary network. I'm not familiar with how to complete the mDNS configuration fields.
