Model: EAP620 HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20200729 Rel. 38407(4555)

Hello,

Upon trying to configure my new EAP620 HD I see there are only four 5GHz channels available to select: 36, 40, 44, 48.  All others are missing.  It appears to be a bug.

The limitation is there whether I set it up standalone or if I adopt it into a Cloud SDN Controller.  When channel is "Auto" I see it always picks these channels, never higher, so I am unable to design my wireless network as desired.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

Yah same with EAP660 HD i dont understand why TP-LINK do so stupid thing. they do this every time, they have to understand that we need DFS channel, and autochannel have never worked access pont always use non dfs channel when auto is on.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not just the DFS channels (52 - 144) that are missing, but also the 2nd 80MHz 5GHz channel (149-165) that is missing.  The EAP620 HD is really only giving me one 5GHz 80MHz channel to work with.

It also makes sense to add the DFS channels as well, especially since I see options about handling DFS in the Omada SDN Controller.  The infrastructure appears ready to handle them.

Dear @symbiotic_ic,

Confirmed with the product team, the EAP620 HD (EU) only supports Band1(channel 36-48) on 5GHz at present, it will support DFS channels with the subsequent firmware update (probably in Q2). Sorry for any inconvenience caused!

@Fae

The EU allows:

32-48 without DFS

50-144 with DFS/TPC

149-161 SRD max 25mW

165-173 SRD max 25mW

The 32-48 bands are already getting crowded, especially with people using wider channels so we would appriciate access to the other channels as well! This goes for the EAP660 HD as well of course!

Hello, we are in end Q3'21 and still no firmware available for the V1 in EU. Any chance to get it soon please ?

I also see that there is a V2 version in EU with a recent firmware update. Is this allowing higher bands ?

Dear @VitaliyT,

I have two EAP620 HD V2 and both of them misses DFS channels with the latest firmware dated 2021-07-13 sad

Do you mean that they had DFS channels before the firmware upgrade?

Where did you download the latest firmware from?

What's the full firmware version showing on your EAPs now?

Could you please upload some screenshots to show the current available 5GHz channels of your EAP620 HD v2?

@Fae

1) I have no idea, if they had DFS channels prior to the upgrade, as I discovered that they do not have DFS channels only after I upgraded the firmware.

2) I dowloaded the new firmware from the official TP-Link worldwide-english website, not country specific, unfortunately I am unable to insert into my text the web address.

3) I have downloaded the file EAP620HD(EU)_V2_1.0.1 build 20210422 (unfortunately I cannot copy and paste on this website).

4) I will try to attach a screenshot. Available 5GHz channels now are 36, 40, 44, 48 only.

It has been confirmed that the current EAP620 HD V2 doesn't support DFS channels. The subsequent firmware which is compatible with Controller v5.0 will support DFS channels. Please check for the new firmware release notes for final confirmation. Thank you!
