Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.7.4

Hello,

First i make an account on the TL-R605 with between 6 & 64 characters password. I can login see wich dhcp ip addresses for the OC200 & switch.

Then want to adopt it in to the OC200 (account for the OC200 is different then the TL-R605) but can't adopt because user name and password are not correct while adopt.

Put the user and password in for the TL-R605 to adopt , then it says your password is to big it have to be between 6 & 64 charachters?

While the TL-R605 self is not complaining about that. What goes wrong here.

Regards,

Toppy

Hey You shouldnt need to put any config into the standalone R5605, all configs should be set via the controller when adopted. I would reset the R605 and adopt it vanilla (no changes to config) then do the setup via the controller as this will disable local accounts and remove local config from the R605 when adopted, its no benefit to set it up first. Once adopted, the only way to config the R605 is via the controller, local accounts and settings are in-effective

@Philbert

Thanks for your reply, yes your right.

In my case all the hardware was new out of the box (no dhcp servers) and to see wich ip addres the controller was given from the routers dhcp pool, i had to logon first in the router on wich you have to create a new admin user. (wizzard)

So the message was strange when the router tried to adopt into omada (because both lenght for passwords where between 6 & 64 Characters) and it  didn't reconize the password of the local "router" admin account.
