When plugging in the eap225 wall plate to a poe cable the led light does not flash (or do anything). I already have an eap225 outdoor and an eap225 ceiling working okay and have tried plugging this unit into their poe cables as a test but cannot get any life out of it.

 

I've tried reset and pressing the led button but no luck. 

 

The unit was brand new boxed.

 

Any other suggestions?

I saw on TP-Link website that EAP225-Wall only supports standard POE. It can't be power up by passive POE. I guess you may need to buy a POE switch. https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/wall-plate-ap/eap225-wall/#specifications

Did you try a reset on the device?    Or if you give it a few mins does the device start broadcasting the default SSID?

 

Might also be worth checking this directly into the switch via patch cable (not via wall trunking) to just make sure its not a cable run issue

 

Outside that, it could just be unlucky DOA device

@Philbert thanks for the thoughts but I think I've exhausted all the tests I can try so will return it as a DOA.

@Beezer Yes - the problem was passive POE. Attached to a POE switch it works fine.
