EAP245 Adapt Failed in Discovery Utility
Hi
I just purchased 2 EAP 245 V3. I am trying to adapt them into the OMADA Controller (4.3). For this I have run the OMADA discovery utility and the utility is able to see the 2 units. But when I try to adapt the EAP245 to the controller I get the error Adapt Failed. When I look into the discovery utility log I see the following error getting repeated

Any ideas on how to fix this.

The current firmware of my device is - 2.21.0 Build 20200522 Rel. 49688
I have not upgraded to the latest version because there is some confusion on the product i have got. The model number is EAP245(US) v3.0, but if i go to my country's Tplink website and check for firmware upgrade, i see product code as EAP245(EU) v3.0. So not sure if they are compatible.
I have raised a query with TPLINK support to check if the product is genuine and if i can upgrade the same.

Was your EAP245 purchased from other regions?
You may upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your Omada EAP.

Apologies a bit confused. This was purchased in the same region where i am checking the firmware. Hence the surprise why i got a EAP245(US) model and not EAP245(EU).
Can i update the EAP245(EU) firmware on the EAP245(US) model? Will it work and will it void the warranty as the site says warranty will be void if wrong firmware is loaded?
Thanks

From my experience, I think you can try to upgrade the EAP245(EU) firmware, if it's incompatible, it shouldn't allow you to upgrade.
Is there any reply from the local support team? The local support may know more about the products sold in the local area.
I'll try to check this information for you, any update, I'll let you know.

Thanks a lot for your help. I havent received a response from the support team as yet. Though they have copied me on the mail in which they forwarded the query to their internal teams.
I hope it turns out alright. It would be horrible if it is not and i am out of the 3 year warranty. Keeping my fingers crossed

Thank you for your valued feedback. Considering that the EAP product purchased in your region is labeled with US version, I've suggested the local website uploading the firmware named with US to avoid confusion.
Hope you enjoy the Internet with TP-Link products. Have a great day!
