AX11000 router with EAP660 HP Access Points
I am setting up a new home network. The home has been wired for several POE access points. I have used Omada access points before and like them a lot and plan to use again. Can I use the Omada EAP660 HD access points with the TP-Link AX11000 router? I would like to use the built-in Wi-Fi capabilities of the AX1100 and be able to seamlessly roam throughout the house. Will the AX11000 and EAP660 HDs work together to enable seamless roaming? Thanks for your help.

Hey
Sadly the mesh technology in the AX11000 is NOT compatible with the Omada Mesh setup, the different devices wont work seamlessly for you.
In Omada we use Fast Roaming via an OC200 / Software controller for "Mesh"
In the home grade stuff they have a separate system called OneMesh.. the AX11000 supports this
I would look at a OneMesh setup for your scenario, you can get one mesh repeaters

@Philbert I don't believe any of the range extenders are POE. The wiring for my access points are in places like closet ceiling with no power outlet. I need POE extenders/access points. The Omada's are ideal for my purpose. What about using a different router? I haven't used TP link business routers before, so not sure how they will work without using VPN and other features they support. Thoughts?

Hey
Yeah if you want POE and Seamless Roaming, then you would have to go for the Omada range of APs, something like the EAP660
In terms of routers, you can use an Omada Router, something like the ER605 would work perfectly and its fairly cheap. No you don't need to use any of the VPN stuff, all you want is basic internet and that should suffice for you. You can however just use your current router and disable the WiFi also, using only the AX11000 for internet access.. let the EAP660s handle the WiFi
If you do go for APs, you will also need a controller OC200 to manage the roaming (Seamless) and setup any Mesh if you decide to go that way. Do you have a POE switch? If not any POE switch should work, however, I would recommend the SG2008P as its has POE and can work via the OC200 Controller.
If you want to spend the money, a full Omada setup for you would be
ER605 Router
OC200 Controller
2008P Switch
however many EAPs you wish...
Basic setup.. all you need is the EAPs and OC200... but I would also recommend a POE switch of some sort, its best not to use injectors unless you have too!
